Most of the dyes we use are colour fast. However, both black and red dyes may rub off,when new, onto your skin or socks. This is because in order to get the depth of colour we have to saturate the leather with colour. If this gets warm and damp it can rub off. The dye is harmless and will wash off easily. This is not a fault but a characteristic of the material.
